It is a very simple question with no easy answers. Studies have produced various recommendations over the years, but in truth, your water needs depend on several factors, including your health, how active you are and etc

Every day you lose water through your breath, perspiration, urine and bowel movements. Should you drink more than required, you will make your kidneys work overtime and this may lead to several uncomfortable situations as well as diseases.

Individuals should be careful about balancing the loss of water and water consumption daily. Generally we recommend you to drink :

7-8 glasses of water in winter


9-10 glasses in the summer

However, remember to avoid dehydration at all times as well as keeping in mind that over drinking is dangerous, even if the liquid we are talking about is water!

A regular question I receive is ” What counts as a water substitute ?”. Remember, water can not be substituted by any other liquid; especially tea and coffee.
